USAID Evidence Summit: Development to Counter Insurgency
September 7–8, 2010
Washington, DC
DACOR researchers Eli Berman and Jacob Shapiro played a prominent role in the first USAID Evidence Summit, which brought together members of the research community and USAID staff to examine evidence around what has and has not been effective in countering insurgency and violent extremism throughout the world.
The evidence packets linked here are provided as a resource for both the development community and researchers.
The evidence summit initiative at USAID brings together the academic and development practitioner communities around particular development challenges, as part of a renewed emphasis at USAID on the application of research and evaluation to inform strategic thinking about development. Summits are hosted and planned by the Office of Learning, Evaluation, and Research (PPL/LER).
