The Burkle Center for International Relations at UCLA presents a talk by Steven Cook. Cook will discuss his new book, which presents the history of Egypt from the early 20th century to the fall of Mubarak, providing readers with an understanding of the patterns of Egyptian politics that will help them make sense of the complex events now unfolding.

Cook, an expert on Arab and Turkish politics and U.S.-Middle East policy, is the Hasib J. Sabbagh Senior Fellow for Middle Eastern Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations. The event is free and open to the public, but attendees are asked to preregister. More information and registration form.
